If a filter becomes too clogged then it can not only negatively affect the operation of your furnace but will also increase your energy bills.

NO.  Changing the locks and tampering with the thermostat violates the Lease Agreement.  Also, if there is a problem with the thermostat itself or the furnace as a result of the thermostat and you request our maintenance to fix it, you will be charged back.  

If your smoke detector is simply beeping then it is letting you know that the batteries are low and need to be changed.  You would contact the office to have maintenance come and change them; do not remove the smoke detector.

You can have a wireless alarm system installed after you receive consent from the Landlord.  You may NOT have the locks, thermostat or doorbell changed. A wireless doorbell camera is permitted.
